D105's Gurrie Middle School Runners Win 2nd in State

Gurrie Middle School’s Boy’s Cross Country Team competed in Normal at the state level on Saturday, October 19, and placed 2nd within their Class, 2A. This is the second consecutive time a Gurrie Middle School Boy's Cross Country team has qualified for the state competition and the first time a team has placed. The team consisted of the following boys: John Barrette, Brandon Betancourt, Patrick Collins, Jonathan Garcia, Yasir Garci, Porter Gourley, Emilio Lopez, Dean O’Bryan, Carson Turner and Maks Washchuk.

Gurrie Middle School is comprised of students from La Grange, Countryside and Hodgkins. The GMS Cross Country coaching staff is as follows: Kate Brand, Steve Driscoll, Joe Pontrelli and Jennifer Weaver.
