District 105 Preschool Program Receives Award

The Hodgkins "Preschool for All" program of District 105 has been awarded the Gold Circle of Quality by the ISBE.

LA GRANGE, IL — The Hodgkins “Preschool for All” program of District 105 has been awarded the Gold Circle of Quality by the Illinois State Board of Education. The district said this is the state’s highest recognition of early childhood programs.

According to the district, the Gold Circle of Quality Award recognizes programs that have demonstrated quality on 15 program standards established by the Illinois State Board of Education. The assessment looks at learning environment, instructional quality, program administrative standards, group size and staff/child ratios, staff qualifications, and professional development.

Preschool for All programs provide at least 2 and a half hours of high quality preschool education for children ages 3 to 5 years old, specifically children that may benefit from additional academic support. The district said the preschool program includes parent engagement, comprehensive developmental screening, and high-quality, research-based curriculum. Preschool for All teachers hold a bachelors-level degree and are licensed in early childhood. The program is free for children who qualify, based on evaluation.
