Drop Off Unwanted Pills at Drug Take-Back Event

Unwanted, expired and unused prescription drugs may be dropped off July 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Riverside police station lobby, 31 Riverside Road.

Police cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps at this event, only pills or patches, according to the Riverside Police Department. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Disposing of pills at drug take-back events helps to prevent pill abuse and theft. Some methods of disposing unused medicines, such as flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash, pose potential safety and health hazards.
