Award-winning Photographer Shows off Students’ Work

Photography students from Bob Briskey’s Photography Group will exhibit their photos throughout the La Grange Public Library. As part of the library’s rotating display of local and area artists, the work of 35 students and Bob Briskey will be on view from September 2 to October 31. An artists’ reception will be held on September 16 from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

The photography students are primarily from the western suburbs of Chicago, but reach as far north as Naperville and west to Lemont. They range in age from 13 to 83 years old.  Their work can be found in the lower level gallery, in the stair well display cases, and in the Quiet Reading Room at the La Grange Public Library.

Bob Briskey, of Bob Briskey Photography, began taking photos 41 years ago when he won a Kodak Instamatic camera in a school fund raising project. As a teenager he worked for the Suburban Life, shooting assignments, including sports that he described as, “the best teen job ever.” He has been recognized in professional journals and won awards for his retail photography. Mr. Briskey has been teaching technical skills and creative vision in photography for four years. He hopes to expand his teaching to children as well.
