
The Chicago Bears “REAL FAN DAYS” weekend is a celebration of the team and their connection to the REAL grizzly bears at Brookfield Zoo’s newest exhibit, Great Bear Wilderness, presented by Dominick’s. Festivities include appearances by legendary Chicago Bears players and Staley Da Bear, animal Zoo Chats, a scavenger hunt, football skill games, and more.
Visitors wearing official Chicago Bears apparel on July 16 and July 17 will receive a 20 percent discount off zoo admission. All activities are free with regular admission of $13.50 for adults and $9.50 for children 3 to 11 and seniors 65 and over. Children 2 and under are free. Parking is $9.

- Learn about the connections that the Chicago Bears share with their REAL animal counterpart at a special grizzly bear Zoo Chat.
- Meet and get autographs from legendary Chicago Bears players:
- Steve McMichael on Saturday, July 16, from noon to 2 p.m.
- Keith Van Horne on Saturday, July 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Dennis McKinnon on Sunday, July 17, from noon to 2 p.m.
- Otis Wilson on Sunday, July 17, from 3 to 4 p.m.
- Meet Staley Da Bear, who will be on hand both days from 1 to 3 p.m. to celebrate and meet fans.
- Partake in a scavenger hunt that will take place around the zoo connecting the skills of Chicago Bears players the animals at Brookfield Zoo. Anyone that completes the hunt can enter into a drawing for Bears-themed prizes.
- Be a sports broadcaster and announce iconic sports plays at the broadcast “karaoke” booth.

- Free Football Skill Drills on Brookfield Zoo’s West Mall
- Bears Tunnel: guests can imitate players as they burst onto the field by running through the Chicago Bears inflatable tunnel.
- Bungee First Down: two participants are harnessed to a bungee cord and run against the tension on separate inflated lanes to get to the farthest point first.
- Bungee Run: participants are harnessed to a bungee cord and run against the tension on separate inflated lanes while leaving a Velcro marker to indicate their successful run before being tugged back to their starting position.
- Giant Bag Toss: participants play a “supersized” version of the classic tailgating game with football shaped bags.
“REAL FAN DAYS” is a seven-weekend series that runs through September 4 and will allow fans of Chicago professional sports teams to meet players and mascots, test their skill at sports games, and enjoy themed entertainment. Plus, guests can discover the REAL connection their favorite teams share with iconic animals at Brookfield Zoo and within the Great Bear Wilderness exhibit, through programming and activities.
