The Chicago Steel Hockey Team will honor a U.S. Marine from La Grange next Friday, March 2, holding "Josh Misiewicz Night" to thank him for his sacrifice and to help support his recovery.
Lance Corporal Misiewicz was an all-star hockey player for Lyons Township High School, who also played for St. Mary's University in Minnesota before joining the Marine Corps. He was serving as a squad leader in Afghanistan last summer when a landmine explosion cost him both his legs.

The La Grange community has rallied to support the Misiewicz family with fundraising and with a huge welcome for Josh when he came home for a short leave at Christmas. Hundreds lined the block to thank him with cheers, signs and a bagpipe band. He continues to make progress at the military hospital in Bethesda, Md., but there is still a long journey of healing and rehab ahead.
