Run 3.14 Pie, Inaugural Thanksgiving Day 5K in La Grange

Get ready for a new Thanksgiving tradition in La Grange!  The 1st Annual “Run 3.14 Pie” run/walk benefitting locally based Beds Plus is planned to kick-off in front of the Lyons Township High School North Campus Field House on Thanksgiving morning at 8:30 am.  Beds Plus, based in LaGrange, IL, has been providing overnight shelter, meals and essential services to the homeless men, women and children of west suburban Cook County since 1988.

Sponsored by The Runner’s Soul, 5 South LaGrange Avenue, LaGrange, IL, this scenic 3.1416 (remember pie from junior high math?) mile course will allow folks to get up early and burn off some calories before they go home to their traditional family Thanksgiving dinners. As an added treat the first 500 people to register for the race will receive a Sara Lee Pumpkin Pie to take home after the race and everyone gets a long sleeve New Balance technical T-shirt.

“We really wanted to create a “homecoming” atmosphere where local families, returning college students, and out-of-town visitors can all come together to count their many blessings and help support those that are less fortunate,” said Jayne Aspan, President of The Runner’s Soul.
