Nicole DeBoom, CEO and Founder of SkirtSports and the Skirt Chasers 5K race series and Professional Triathlete will run with us at the Luna Run, Monday, June 13. Come early (5:15-6:15) to get fit with a pair of Newtons to test run on your run with Nicole before departing at 6:30 pm for the run. Nicole will talk after the run.
Nicole grew up in Downers Grove where she excelled in swiming (she still holds some DGS high school swim records!), qualifying for the '88 Olympic trials, before she went on to swim at an Ivy Legue school. Catching the triathlete bug in 1999, DeBoom went on to secure first place wins in Boulder, Chicago and Memphis eventually finishing in the top 20 at the legendary Hawaii Ironman World Championship. During a run in 2004, Nicole had an epiphany during a run: Why couldn’t workout apparel be fun, feminine and performance-based? A few months later she designed a woman’s running skirt and in 2004 launched Skirt Sports Inc., which has been growing ever since. Check out the great styles we carry while you're in the store.
The Luna run is hosted by the LUNA Chicago Triathlon Team running out of the La Grange store. Not only are they a bunch of hot CHIXS, they race for a great cause; The Breast Cancer Fund. All are welcome, distances vary and no one is left behind.
