RIVERSIDE, IL — A fight that took place at a Riverside gas station Monday spilled over into the next block, with shots being fired, including into a nearby house, Riverside police said Tuesday. The suspects got away just before police arrived, according to a news release.

About 7 p.m., some type of disturbance took place at the Amstar gas station, 3346 S. Harlem Avenue. The fight moved over to the 300 block of East Quincy Street, just off of Harlem. At some point, shots were fired into the house and into a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, which sped away, the news release said. Two adults and two children were in the house when the shooting occurred, but no one was hurt, police said. The evidence shows that the house was not the intended target. The shell casings were from a .45-caliber gun, with police recovering a bullet from a living room wall.

Police have custody of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that was fired upon. It had been left at the site of the shooting and lists to a Skokie address, police said.
