Forest Road School Celebrates Diversity During Culture Night

Student Council Sponsored Event Held on May 17 Featured Various Cultures

On the evening of May 17, the Student Council sponsored a Culture Night at Forest Road School in La Grange Park to celebrate the rich diversity of the student body. Students took part in the festivities and various cultures were represented including Indian, Swiss, Serbian, Italian, Brazilian, Lithuanian, Mexican, Colombian, English, as well as Forest Road culture.

Each participant(s) who signed up received a table to display items including informational posters, traditional clothing, cultural foods, music, videos, games, books and more. Culture Night was an opportunity to educate fellow students and community members about the various families’ backgrounds, traditions, and lifestyles at the school.

“Forest Road School is lucky to have students from diverse countries and cultures,” said Kim McGann, instructional coach and Forest Road Student Council co-supervisor. “It is fun to learn about each of the cultures, as well as celebrate one another!”
