FUMCLG and Preschool celebrate Rally Day

First United Methodist Church and Preschool of La Grange hosted a joint Rally Day on Sunday, September 8, 2019. The church and preschool families gathered to bless the newly remodeled rooms in the education building. Pastor Lisa Telomen thanked all of those who are supporting the renovation campaign “I’m grateful to so many of our church and preschool families who have gone above and beyond their usual support, to give to this renovation project. This project is a very important gift, a “building facelift,” which we are giving to present and future generations.”

Peggy Ellis, Co-Director of Children and Family Ministry explained that the church blessed the rooms on Rally Day because it is “the kick-off to all of the school year activities at church. It is always a big, wonderful, multigenerational party but this year was really special because our preschool families came out to see their children’s classrooms and celebrate with the whole church.”

Director of Methodist Preschool and Parents Day Out, Jacqui Buckler, believes that “the remodeled classrooms literally shed a brighter light on the wonderful programs that are happening in the school. The classrooms, nursery and Sunday school classes now have new flooring, lighting and furniture. The children are going to love spending time in these rooms.”

FUMC of La Grange values gathering to experience worship, growing in relationships and going out to serve the community and world. With God's grace, the congregation's hearts, minds and doors are open to people of all races, ethnicities, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and economic conditions. Services are Sundays at 8:00 and 10:15.
