Incidents Reported At LTHS: Police

Theft, battery and drug possession were among the crimes reported at the high school, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL — Over the last week, the La Grange Police Department responded several times to Lyons Township High School's North Campus for incidents such as battery, theft and drug possession. Here are the latest reports from the La Grange police:

  • A person at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Avenue, reported his wallet was removed from his backpack and cash was stolen. A juvenile suspect was identified with the help of a camera. The suspect was arrested on a charge of theft and released to his parents.
  • A juvenile received a citation for possession of a vaping cigarette Feb. 28 at Lyons Township High School North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave.
  • A battery was reported at Lyons Township High School, 100 S. Brainard Ave., about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 28. The reporting party wanted the incident reported as a matter of record at this time.
  • A juvenile was caught with multiple vaping devices and bottles of vape oil containing nicotine at 8 a.m. March 3 at Lyons Township High School North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave. The juvenile received five tickets for being a minor in possession of vaping cigarettes.
  • A juvenile was caught with a THC vaping tank and vaping battery pack at 12:45 p.m. March 2 at Lyons Township High School North Campus 100 S. Brainard Ave. The juvenile received citations for being a minor in possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A resident in the 1000 block of South Stone Avenue reported March 4 that a family member threatened to sue her after learning that her mother was no longer allowed to drive. The resident said she has power of attorney over her mother. An officer told the resident she should contact a lawyer and the secretary of state's office, which handles driver's license issues.
  • A piece of workout equipment was reported unbolted and removed March 3 at a property at East Ogden and North Locust avenues. Nothing else was missing.
  • A resident in the 100 block of North Waiola Avenue reported the theft of an American flag overnight March 2.
  • A car in an alley in the 800 block of West Arlington Avenue was reported spray-painted the morning of March 3.
  • Customers left a restaurant without paying the bill about 10 p.m. March 3 in the 10 block of South La Grange Road. Police found the suspects arguing at Harris Avenue and La Grange Road. They paid the bill, and the restaurant decided against filing a complaint. One person was arrested on a DuPage County warrant.
