Income Up, Spending Down At LTHS

The indicators are better than what was expected in the original budget, a school memo says.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School is in a better place financially – its income is up and its spending is down, a school memo indicated last week.

Last fall, the school said it estimated that corporate personal property replacement taxes would be at $7.75 million this budget year, the school's business services director, Brian Stachacz, said in the memo. That amount has jumped to $9 million.

Also, Stachacz said, the bids for the school's summer projects came in at $1.8 million less than what was originally budgeted.

Of that money, $1.1 million is recommended to be applied to this year's budget and $700,000 to next year's.

This year's original budget projected a decrease in its main account balance of $3.4 million. With the changes, it is now expected to be $1.1 million, Stachacz said.
