LA GRANGE, IL — A home in La Grange and a home in La Grange Park will both be stops on the 2018 Illinois Solar Tour in September. According to a release from the tour, over 100 Illinois solar homes and businesses will open their doors for the tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22.
La Grange Park resident Jonathan Almer has solar panel and GeoThermal technology installed at his home at 604 N. Edgewood. La Grange resident Tim Sheldon also has solar panels installed at his home at 449 Seventh Ave. and said the panels save him money on electricity, support local jobs and benefits the environment.
The Solar Tour, hosted by the Illinois Solar Energy Association, is a free open house event that allows the public to view real-life examples of nearby businesses and residents who have decided to cut their utility bills by going solar, according to a release.
