La Grange Leaders Tell All
The Citizens' Council of La Grange offers an opportunity to learn what it's like to run for office and participate in local government.

March 28, 2018 – What’s it like to be a part of local government? The Citizens’ Council of La Grange will help answer that question during their Candidate 101 event. During this presentation, a panel of diverse La Grange leaders will talk about the most exciting, most perplexing, and most rewarding parts of their jobs as elected officials—and answer questions about running for office too.
The Citizens’ Council, founded in 1941, is a nonpartisan, non-profit, volunteer organization that seeks, evaluates and recommends candidates for local office in the Village of La Grange. Its primary focus is to find the best-qualified candidates for the Village of La Grange, La Grange Library Board of Trustees and the Park District of La Grange Board of Commissioners. Equally important, the Council strives to keep its members - and all residents - informed on key issues in local government.
The Citizens’ Council is interested in maintaining a membership that is diverse and represents multiple viewpoints from all areas of the Village of La Grange. They encourage the citizens of La Grange get involved. To learn more, join us at our monthly meetings.
