La Grange Park District Names New Leader
The longtime executive director retired in April. He served the district for nearly three decades.

LA GRANGE, IL — The board for the Park District of La Grange on Thursday hired a new executive director.
Jenny Bechtold, the district's interim director, was promoted to the top position. The board approved an agreement with her, but the district is requiring a public records request to obtain the document. Patch submitted one Friday.
"I'm very excited, grateful and humbled to be working with the staff, the community and the board of directors," Bechtold said in an interview Friday.

For the last four years, Bechtold has been the superintendent of the district's La Grange Fitness. She said the district plans to fill her former job, but it may not have the same title.
In April, Dean Bissias retired as executive director. He has been with the district for 28 years, the last 16 at the helm.

In the 2020 budget year, the district employed 18 full-timers and 201 part-timers, according to its annual financial report. Its budget was $6.2 million.
