La Grange Cops Confirm LTHS Attack Investigation
The police chief publicly speaks about the inquiry into the altercation on North Campus.

LA GRANGE, IL – The La Grange Police Department on Friday publicly confirmed it is investigating a reported attack on Lyons Township High School's North Campus.
"Currently, we have got every available staff member committed to an active ongoing investigation involving juveniles," Police Chief Robert Wardlaw said in an interview. "Due to this being an active investigation involving juveniles, I'm precluded on the information I can divulge."
The high school said this week that the altercation occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday outside the school's Exit 7. A student was taken to the hospital, the school said.

Information has been hard to come by this week. Patch and the Riverside-Brookfield Landmark newspaper have left messages with the police, but received no return calls until Friday.

In the early stages of a case, police often reveal little about a crime so as not to jeopardize the investigation.
Many in the community are asking questions about what happened. Some are expressing worry about their children's safety.
The high school has issued two public statements since the attack, with the latest one issued Tuesday. Patch included information from that message in a story Wednesday.
