In 1920, a young man named Louis DeSitter came from Belgium with a vision: to start a company to provide the finest quality flooring materials and installations for both homeowners and businesses throughout Chicago. In 1950, that vision bought DeSitter Flooring and their family to La Grange. The DeSitter family have been involved in the community ever since.
Today, the vision Louis had is carried on by his two grandsons and third generation co-owners Tom Cunningham and Steve DeSitter. Those who know Tom and Steve are very familiar with their passion for the industry and community. In fact, their company mission is to "Build relationships for generations by enhancing people's lives where they live, work and play". And, Tom and Steve have done just that.

They are supporters of a number of charitable organizations including the St. Jude's Dream Home, Alzheimer's Association, The H Foundation, Legacy Guild, Beds, and many many more.
DeSitter Flooring has grown to become a leader in the industry, being voted the number one flooring dealer in Chicago numerous times. Tom and Steve attribute this success to their employees and the company culture. It's no surprise that their company Core Values are consistent with the Rotary Four Way Test. Their Core Values being:
