La Grange Short-Term Rental Rules Pushed
A trustee says the village should address the issue before it becomes a problem.
LA GRANGE, IL — A La Grange trustee is pushing regulations for short-term rentals such as Airbnbs before such rentals become a problem.
"These things I have seen proliferate in other communities," Trustee Bill Holder said at Monday's Village Board meeting.
He said short-term rentals are appropriate in certain areas. But he said it isn't always advantageous to have "revolving door" rentals in the middle of a neighborhood.

"I would hope we would codify those rules before they become an issue, not once it becomes a problem or we have to defend ourselves," Holder said.
None of the trustees responded to Holder's suggestion. His term ends April 30. He did not seek re-election.
