A Look At The Candidates For LT Board Of Education

There are five candidates for three open seats on the LT Board of Education.

LA GRANGE, IL — With the April election quickly approaching, Lyons Township High School Board of Education candidates have already filed their nomination papers. There are three open seats in the election and according to the Cook County Election Commission, five people are running.

As of Jan. 7, the candidates are: Kari Dillon of Indian Head Park, Allison Kelly of La Grange; Ricardo Martinez Jr. of Western Springs; Philip Palmer of Western Springs; and Barbara Rosinsky of La Grange.

John Polacek's seat is one of the positions up for election. Polacek hasn't filed nomination papers, and he has been a board member since 1989.

Rosinsky and Palmer are both current board members. According to the LTHS website, Rosinsky has been a board member since 2014 and Palmer since 2011. Palmer currently serves as the secretary for the board.

Other board members are Thomas Cushing, George Dougherty, Molly Murphy Bruton and Jessica McLean. Those four members aren't up for re-election until 2021.
