LT to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Wednesday, January 15, 6:30pm in the South Campus Performing Arts Center
The Lyons Township High School Black and Multi-Cultural Club is hosting a Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration Wednesday, January 15, 6:30pm in the South Campus Performing Arts Center, 4900 S. Willow Springs Rd., Western Springs. This free event, entitled Everybody Can Be Great, is open to the entire LT community and will feature keynote speaker Rev. James Foster.
Rev. Foster is a Founding and Senior Pastor at Living Truth of Christ Church in Lafayette, IN. Previously, he served as a senior pastor at the Word of Life Fellowship Church and at New Faith Baptist Church and as an associate minister, deacon and Sunday school superintendent at Second Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN. The bulk of his professional career was spent at Purdue University as a residence hall general manager and as a diversity/community outreach manager. Throughout his more than 30-year tenure at the university, he not only managed housing, he facilitated diversity and inclusiveness workshops and advised the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
He served as the Pastors’ Alliance president and was on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, Midland Meals and the Minority Health Coalition of Tippecanoe County, among others. He received several awards from Purdue University, including the One Brick Higher President’s Award, a Special Boilermaker Award from the Alumni Office and the 2009 Dreamer Award.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and graduate level courses in Higher Education Administration from Purdue University.
