LT, District 101 Announce Late Start Due To Weather

Several area schools have announced lates start due to the weather.

With possibly 7 inches of snow hitting the area on Monday, area schools have announced closures and late starts. In La Grange and Western Springs, Lyons Township High School District 204 will open late at 10 a.m. Monday.

District 101 in Western Springs will also have a late start at 10 a.m., as well as District 106 in La Grange. In La Grange Park, Nazareth Academy will open late at 9:20 a.m.

  • Forest Hills School in Western Springs
  • Laidlaw School in Western Springs
  • McClure Junior High in Western Springs
  • Lyons Township South Campus in Western Springs
  • Lyons Township North Campus in La Grange
  • Nazareth Academy
  • District 106 La Grange Highlands
  • St John's Lutheran School (9:15 a.m.)

The NWS said heavy snow and blowing snow will begin Sunday night and continue into Monday. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are possible. The snow could impact the Monday morning commute, and could make travel very difficult. Generally, the farther north you live, the more snow you'll receive, with most of the Chicago suburbs fall in the 4 to 7 inch or 3 to 5 inch range.
