LT’s eSports crown champs in first after school tourney
Lyons Township High School eSports Club recently hosted its first eSports Tournament with 40 players in a single elimination competition.

The Lyons Township High School eSports Club recently hosted its first eSports Tournament with 40 players in a single elimination competition. The tournament used Nintendo Switch to play the game Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Students played one on one until there was only one winner left in the room.
Students from all different experience levels came out to play in tournament or just cheer on their friends. Some students came with custom controllers and their personal gaming device to get some practice in before their matches.
Sponsor Josh Nabasny said, “We were really pleased with the turnout, especially for our first tournament. The intensity was off the charts! By the end of the tournament, students were in awe of the skill that the tournament champions possessed.”
