LT Students Shine at the Scholastic Regional Art Show 2023

LT congratulates its Art Department, teachers, and student artists on the recent success at the Scholastics Art Competition. The show is the largest national competition for high school students in the visual arts. The first stage for our students was the regional exhibition hosted by Downers Grove North High School on display from January 29th – February 3rd. About 2,200 works were submitted for judging in different categories such as Drawing, Painting, Jewelry, and Film & Animation. Seniors could also submit a thematic group of eight works to compete as a portfolio. A portfolio involves a lot of effort over multiple months and the works included in the portfolio might also compete as individual entries. 83 portfolios were submitted for judging. LT is proud to have three gold Key Portfolio winners and two Silver key Portfolio winners. With respect to individual entries, LTHS students brought home 23 Gold Keys, 14 Silver Keys, and 13 Honorable Mentions.
