Lyons Township High School is proud to announce that all five senior National Merit Semifinalists have advanced and been named Finalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship competition. These students will continue to compete for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered in the spring.
More than 1.5 million students nationwide entered the Merit Program as juniors by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. High scorers were designated as finalists by scoring in the top one-half of one percent among students taking the PSAT. In total, just over 15,000 academically talented seniors qualified nationwide. National Merit Scholarship winners of 2020 will be announced beginning in April.
