LTHS business students qualify for State competition
Students recently competed in Regional contests and 21 qualified to compete at the State level in 17 different categories.

Congratulations are in order for the Lyons Township High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) Club. Students recently competed in Regional contests and 21 qualified to compete at the State level in 17 different categories.
Seven of LT’s state qualifiers will compete in two categories and seven competitors are repeat qualifiers, having advanced to state competition last year. In addition to individual qualifiers, one team, the Administrative Support Team, will also advance. In total, LT earned 10 first place finishes, four second place finishes, four third place finishes, six fourth place wins and one fifth place finish.
The BPA state competitions will be held in late February. The students are led and coached by business teacher Jennifer Walker and Jeff Cermak.

Business Professionals of America is a national organization for high school and college students preparing for careers in business and office administration. The organization’s activities and program complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of skills learned at school. BPA contributes to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.
