LTHS Cancels After-School Activities
This decision includes competitions, practices, field trips and performances.
LA GRANGE, IL — Lyons Township High School has canceled all after-school activities, effective immediately. This includes meetings, competitions, practices rehearsals, field trips, domestic travel, building rentals and performances, the school said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
Also effectively immediately, the school is taking action to limit all non-essential visitors to both campuses. This includes college students who often return from spring break hoping to visit teachers and staff.
"We are not restricting parents and other individuals who have an appointment or who are visiting for a legitimate purpose," the school said in a statement.

The school said it wants to encourage students to say home if they're sick. Procedures are set up so that students and staff who get sick during the school day are sent home as soon as possible, the statement said.
As part of this effort, the school's attendance limits on parent-excused absences will be lifted for the remainder of the spring semester.
