LA GRANGE, IL — Lyons Township High School announced Friday afternoon that it is canceling classes starting Monday. Students are slated to return Tuesday, April 7. The decision was in response to the coronavirus.
According to the district, teachers and staff will be in attendance Monday to finalize e-learning plans that will start Tuesday and last through Monday, April 6. Spring break is March 23 to March 27.
"The decision to institute at-home e-learning was difficult as we realize the significant impact on our students, families and staff," Superintendent Timothy Kilrea said in a statement. "However, the health and safety of our students and staff are paramount. We currently have no indication of the coronavirus in our schools but are initiating e-learning in an effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in our communities."
