LTHS econ students flex finance muscles

Four LT Advanced Placement economics students participated in the 2018 Illinois Economics Challenge State Finals

Four Lyons Township High School Advanced Placement economics students participated in the 2018 Illinois Economics Challenge State Finals, a program of Econ Illinois. The event was held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and involved 205 high school students from 20 high schools competing for the championship title. LT placed among the top 10 teams in the state.

The event consisted of individual, team and quiz bowl rounds, with 10 teams qualifying for the state event. LT junior Adam Koszut, of LaGrange Highlands, junior Lucas Hanafin, of LaGrange, senior Antonio Giron, of Brookfield, and junior Max Bresticker, of Western Springs all participated in the state qualifier.

The Illinois Economics Challenge (ILEC) is designed to recognize Advanced Placement students who demonstrate high levels of comprehension and application of economics concepts and skills; and to reward teachers for outstanding practices in teaching economics courses.
