LT Student Receives Service Award

This year's recipients combined served more than 34,000 hours.

LA GRANGE, IL — A Lyons Township High School student is among more than 200 students who have received the Sheriff's Commitment to Service Award, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Artur Konopka received the award, which honors high school students committed to serving their communities by completing more than 100 volunteer service hours between September 2017 and August 2018. These hours do not include any school requirements for community service.

The sheriff's office said more than 30 high schools in Cook County are represented by the students who won the award. This year's recipients combined served more than 34,000 hours.
