LT Robotics Team engineers their way to quarter finals

The Lyons Township High School Robotics Club recently participated in a 40+ team event hosted by Niles West High School called “In the Zone.” LT brought four teams to the event with four robots. Each team was randomly pooled with other teams to compete in the competition. The object of the challenge was for robots to stack the most cones in their zone before the 90 second round was over. The competition consisted of 70+ qualifying matches that would determine the top eight teams. The top eight teams took turns inviting two more teams to join their “alliance” and then were placed in a bracket with single elimination, best of three rounds. All three robots on the alliance teams have to play at least one round. Out of the alliances, LT Robotics had two teams in the final bracket. Unfortunately, due to robotic issues of multiple teams, the LT teams were knocked out in the quarter finals.

Robots Club sponsor Josh Nabasny said, “In the qualification matches, LT performed exceedingly well for their first competition of the season. LT Robotics continues to learn and build every day.”
