Make Bold Moves Your Valentine's Destination
The Joffrey Ballet premiers Bold Moves February 10

Valentine’s Day is a week away, which means it’s time to finalize plans for a romantic outing. The Joffrey Ballet premiers its Spring production, Bold Moves, just in time to make this Valentine’s Day extra-special. Bold Moves runs at the Auditorium Theatre from February 10 through February 21, with four performances Valentine’s weekend.
Bold Moves features three gorgeous productions from three daring choreographers.
In Forgotten Land, choreographer Jiří Kylián created a stunning seaside dance. “Forgotten Land was inspired by a painting of women on a beach by the Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch. The sea, with its giant waves, is a metaphor for constant motion; for erosion and renewal.”

A World Premiere by choreographer Ashley Page features 12 dancers who perform to Thomas Adès’ music. Described as ”constantly shifting tensions, evocative atmospheres and a seam of wayward sensuality, which provide a thrilling ‘landscape’ for dance to explore,” the music acts as the 13th stage presence.
RAkU returns with high expectations. Choreographer Yuri Possokhov’s story of love, treachery, separation and tragedy has quickly become a critical and audience favorite. A warrior and his princess are separated by the schemes of a jealous monk.
