Missing Man Left Angry From Brookfield Zoo: Riverside Police
Fredric Davis walked away from caregivers and asked for directions to train station, police said.
RIVERSIDE, IL — Riverside police are looking for a man who went missing Saturday from a field trip to the Brookfield Zoo. According to a news release, Fredric Davis, 53, of Robbins, got into an argument at the zoo and walked away from his caregivers, asking a zoo employee how to get to the train station. He was given directions to the Metra station in Brookfield.
Davis, who sometimes spells his first name Fredrick, was with a group at the zoo's Holiday Magic Celebration about 7 p.m. when he got into the argument, police said. Officers were told Davis, who lives at Lydia Health Care Center in Robbins, suffers from schizophrenia and requires medication, the release said. He was last seen on the Riverside part of the park. Davis' caregivers did not notify authorities until about 9:30 p.m. that he was missing, police said.
Riverside and Brookfield police searched all the train stations in Brookfield and Riverside trying to find Davis. Riverside police also notified all local police agencies about Davis, including the police for Metra and Amtrak. The police also have contacted all local hospitals, but to no avail. He also has been entered into the national database for missing people.

Davis is described as black, 5 feet, 5 inches, 140 pounds and having black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue gym shoes, blue jeans, a black puffy jacket and a knit winter hat. He has no cellphone and no known family in the area, police said.
