Nazareth Academy Closed Friday Due To Gas Leak
The gas leak is now fixed, but the school has cancelled classes for Friday.
LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park will be closed Friday due to a gas leak. The gas leak occurred Thursday, but the school said on Facebook it is remained closed on Friday to ensure the campus is safe and to let heat get back up and running.
Students won't be allowed on campus Friday, but all activity will be back to normal on Saturday, the school said. According to the school calendar, the only event on Saturday is the Trinity A Team Co-ed Basketball Tournament, which will go on as scheduled.
The Chicago Tribune reported the gas service line was hit by non-Nicor workers on Thursday, and crews started to repair the line Thursday evening.
