Nazareth Academy Offers Free Choir And Band Concerts

The Nazareth Academy Fine Arts Department will offer two music concerts, celebrating the talents of the school's choirs and bands.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL — The Nazareth Academy Fine Arts Department will offer two music concerts, celebrating the talents of the school’s choirs and bands. Both concerts are free and open to the public. They will be held in Nazareth’s Romano Family Theatre.

The spring band concert will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 5. According to the school, the Symphonic Band will perform their wind band classics such as the lyrical "Air for Band" and the exhilarating spanish march, "Amparito Roca." They will also perform a contemporary work by Randall Standridge. The night will also include performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Beginning Band and Percussion Ensemble.

The spring choir concert will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6. According to the school, the Choir Spring Concert will feature the Concert Choir and Progressions singing some traditional choral favorites. Concert Choir will be singing "Arirang," a traditional Korean folk song, "Te Deum," a Latin contemporary praise choral work, and "Shut De Do," a popular Gospel piece with Caribbean rhythms. Progressions will be singing "Seasons of Love" and another beloved gospel piece, "I’ve Decided to Make Jesus My Choice."
