LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Nazareth Academy has announced that Kevin Quinn, a senior from Westchester, has earned the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship. According to the school, the Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for golf caddies that is renewable for up to four years. Recipients must display a strong caddie record, excellent grades and outstanding character.
Quinn has chosen to attend the University of Illinois Urbana where he plans to study Political Science.
“When I first visited Illinois, I loved how it felt small and comfortable, despite being a large school. I
cannot wait to take advantage of everything that the University of Illinois has to offer!”

Quinn is in his fourth year as a caddie at Chicago Highlands.
“Caddying taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance. I attribute my successes to those two qualities because, while countless rounds of carrying a heavy bag or waking up at 5:15 in the morning to wait for a loop were never easy, they paid off in the best way imaginable. I even had the opportunity to meet Evans Scholars while caddying.”

According to the Western Golf Association, Evans Scholars require excellence in “scholarship, fellowship
and leadership,” requirements which align with Nazareth’s mission.
“At Nazareth, I’ve been able to push myself academically,” Quinn said in a release. “As a result of excellent teachers, I have had the opportunity to expand my academic and personal horizons. I am surrounded by people who inspire me and want me to succeed. By encouraging my involvement in student government, leadership conferences and student ministry, Nazareth has instilled in me the importance of being a servant-leader, someone who is always working for the betterment of all, which is a value I intend to uphold.”
The school said Quinn is an Honors student at Nazareth who is actively involved in campus life, including Model UN, for which he has twice won the Best Delegate Award. He is a Student Council Representative, 4-year member of the Soccer team, a Kairos Retreat Leader and a member of National Honor Society and Mu
Alpha Theta math honor society.
