Neighbors Accept Park Plan In La Grange: Official
They disliked the previous plan to upgrade the park. But then the park district changed the proposal.

LA GRANGE, IL – Everything in La Grange's Waiola Park is past its useful life, so the local park district wants to spend $1.2 million to improve it, an official said Thursday.
Earlier in the summer, neighbors of the park at Waiola Avenue and 47th Street opposed changes to the layout of the park.
But Jenny Bechtold, executive director of the Park District of La Grange, said a later version of the park proposal kept everything in its original place. That answered neighbors' concerns about the plan to upgrade the park, she said.

Bechtold said the district has until mid-September to submit an application for a state grant that could cover up to half the costs of the project.
