Park Jr. High School Service Club Whips Up Happiness for Seniors
Residents at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park Enjoy a Social Call from District 102 Students
The Service Club at Park Junior High School in LaGrange Park enjoyed a visit with a group of residents at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park on May 3. Warm conversation and much laughter took place during the visit. The students presented each resident with homemade Cinco de Mayo flowers and whipped up tasty Oreo pudding treats together. Park’s Service Club is looking forward to more visits next year with the seniors at the retirement community.
"It was such a wonderful experience to see the Service Club members and Plymouth Place residents interact,” said Kathleen Malloy, Service Club co-sponsor. “It was a great activity for our last event of the school year and our students left with the biggest smiles knowing that they had made the residents at Plymouth Place so happy!"
After many fundraisers and events, Park Junior High’s Service Club has started their final project of the year and is collecting gently used items for the Pillars Community Health Resale Shop until May 24. To donate items, please drop off at Park Junior High School’s Main Office, 325 N. Park Road in LaGrange Park. Acceptable items include: home décor, housewares, jewelry, purses, accessories (i.e. men’s ties), books, CD’s and DVD’s. They hope to end their year on a wonderful and successful note.
