R.E.M.'s Mike Mills classical violinist Robert McDuffie bring Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and String Orchestra for Chicago premiere

On November 7, R.E.M. bassist and songwriter Mike Mills and critically acclaimed violinist Robert McDuffie will bring Concerto for Violin, Rock Band and String Orchestra to the Harris Theatre. Chicago's own Fifth House Ensemble will join the Chicago premiere.

The concerto, with orchestration and additional music by David Mallamud, features McDuffie performing on violin; a four-member rock band led by composer Mills (performing on bass and keyboard) with two electric guitarists and a drummer; and a string orchestra. The Harris Theatre press release listed this as the full Concerto for Violin, Rock Band and String Orchestra program:
