Scottish Festival and Highland Games start Friday, June 16
The Scottish Festival & Highland Games features an extravaganza of activities and attractions - from the Caber Toss to Highland Dancing

The Scottish Festival and Highland Games is one of those wonderful summer events that brings the entire family together a full, fun day. The CHICAGO SCOTS (The Illinois Saint Andrew Society) hosts the weekend event yearly to local institutions -- the Scottish Home and the Caledonian House.
This is an event that truly has something for every family member including a children's area with mini-versions of Scottish heavy athletics, crafts and tug-o-war; an entertainment tent with local bands' food vendors with traditional Scottish and American favorites; and men in kilts.
The Highland Games are always a festival highlight. From caber tossing to the hammer throw to clachneart, these strength and accuracy contests always bring the crowd to its feet. Athletes come from across the country to participate in this professional competition. The impressive athlete bios listed on the website provide a glimpse into the personalities each competitor brings to the games.
