Student Injured In LTHS Fight

Information on the incident is "upsetting and difficult to hear," officials said.

LA GRANGE, IL – A student was injured in a fight shortly after 4 p.m. Monday at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, the school reported Tuesday.

La Grange police are investigating, the school said. Patch left a message for comment with La Grange Police Chief Robert Wardlaw.

A school spokeswoman told Patch on Tuesday afternoon that more information may be made available later in the day.

"We know that this information is upsetting and difficult to hear, and we are committed to supporting our students, staff, and community," Superintendent Brian Waterman and Principal Jen Tyrrell said in a statement to families. "Situations such as this reinforce the importance of the relationships we maintain with our students and with each other, and we are so grateful to have such a caring community."

Last year, the high school board agreed to pay a student's family $140,000 after she was injured in an attack in a South Campus hallway.
