Three LT Students Awarded National Merit Scholarships
Three Lyons Township High School students have been awarded college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships.

LA GRANGE, IL — Three Lyons Township High School students have been awarded college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced approximately 3,500 winners of National Merit scholarships sponsored by colleges and universities. According to the organization, officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the Finalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.
The Lyons Township High School students are:
- Andrew Schramka, of La Grange. Probable career field of Engineering. Schramka was awarded the National Merit University of Oklahoma Scholarship.
- Adam Solar, of La Grange. Probable career field of Economics. Solar was awarded the National Merit Grinnell College Scholarship.
- Sarah McAllister, of La Grange Park. Probable career field of Chemical Engineering. McAllister was awarded the National Merit University of Alabama Scholarship.
These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship, according to the organization. Sponsor colleges and universities include 100 private and 78 public institutions located in 44 states and the District of Columbia.
