Traffic Concerns La Grange School's Parents

The police chief has directed officers to focus on school traffic, the village president said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange officials said they have heard concerns from parents about traffic at Cossitt Elementary School.

"We've gotten some feedback from residents this week about dropoffs and pickups at Cossitt Elementary School," Trustee Lou Gale said at Monday's Village Board meeting. "Take it easy in line because it's not a race. Your child will get there."

He said the same traffic issues are likely occurring at all local schools.

"Go slow because it's going to take one person going too fast and one kid darting in front of a car, and we're all going to have a very bad day," Gale said. "I just want people to take their time when they do dropoffs and pickups."

Village President Mark Kuchler acknowledged the parents' concerns. The police chief, he said, directed officers to focus on traffic issues at schools.
