Viewfinder: Beat the Heat in the Pool

LT offers a terrific summer program teaching children of all ages how to swim and swim time for residents.

With temperatures consistently in the 90s this week, Viewfinder retreated to the pool. La Grange and La Grange Park don’t have community pools, but Lyons Township High School does offer swim classes and open swim times.  According to the LTHS website the South Campus pool is open through Aug. 1 when it is closed until Aug. 10. The North Campus pool is currently closed for maintenance until late August.

LTHS has designated specific days and times for South Campus open swim. Use of the pool is free for LT students with an ID and for those who live within District 204 boundaries; $5 for out-of-district residents. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by their parent.

Try and beat the heat by clicking through the pictures of kids learning to swim. It cooled me down, although the battery operated fan spritzing me with a fine mist might have helped me out a bit.
