What New La Grange D102 Leader Will Make
The incoming superintendent is now working at Hinsdale High School District 86.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange School District 102's incoming superintendent has been given a three-year contract, starting July 1.
Under the agreement, Chris Covino's salary is set at $225,000. That's less than the current pay for superintendent, Kyle Schumacher, who is retiring after eight years at the helm. His salary is $238,330.
Covino is now the assistant superintendent for academics at Hinsdale High School District 86. His salary there is $184,140, according to the district's latest compensation report.

Covino is set to meet periodically with Schumacher in the coming months before he becomes superintendent, according to a District 102 news release.
Before joining District 86 three years ago, Covino was the principal of Argo Community High School in Summit for four years.

Before that, he was the assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at York High School in Elmhurst.
He started his career as an English teacher at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville.
