Woman, 51, Dead in La Grange Accident This Morning

Driver already could have been dead when car hit tree, police say.

A 51-year-old Brookfield woman was pronounced dead April 27 in Adventist La Grange Memorial  Hospital shortly after her westbound car hit a tree on Ogden Avenue at Waiola Avenue at about 8:30 that morning.

The woman had a medical issue, a seizure or heart attack, and may not have been alive when the vehicle hit the tree, said Police Chief Michael Holub.

Paramedics responded immediately but neither they nor emergency room employees were able to revive her, he said.
