Woman Charged In Abduction That Caused Amber Alert: Police

MAYWOOD, IL — A woman is charged in connection with the child abduction that triggered an Amber Alert earlier this week across the Chicago area, according to police.

Shaina K. Davis, 31, of La Grange, faces one count of child abduction, police said, after 3-year-old Kyaira Montgomery was taken Tuesday morning during a visit at a Department of Children and Family Services office in Maywood, according to police.

An Amber Alert for the girl lasted about two hours and she was eventually found safe after police breached a home in La Grange, authorities said.

Davis was charged Wednesday and released Thursday on a $10,000 bond, according to police, who said her next court date is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at the Maywood courthouse.
