• 2026-2027 student registration opens for Community High School District 117 (lakecountygazette.com) — Families in Lake Villa with students at Lakes or Antioch high schools now have until May 22 to complete online registration for the 2026-27 school year. District 117 says most residents can skip uploading residency documents this year, and registrars at both schools are available by appointment to help parents navigate the process and prepare for fees. 
• Man charged after allegedly crashing his Harley-Davidson while drunk on Route 45 in Lindenhurst (lakemchenryscanner.com) — Emergency crews from the Lake Villa Fire Protection District assisted after a motorcyclist allegedly crashed while intoxicated on Route 45 in nearby Lindenhurst, temporarily closing part of the road. The rider, a Libertyville man, reportedly refused hospital treatment and several tests, and now faces DUI and traffic charges with a court date later this month.
