1st Graders at Sheridan Learn From LFHS Students
A cross-age development program focusing on teamwork and collaboration bridges the gap.

First graders at Sheridan School in Lake Forest are learning about teamwork and collaboration from Lake Forest High School students once a week as part of a cross-age developmental mentoring program.
Students in Mr. Ryan Carney and Mrs. Kathy Norman’s wellness classes spend every Thursday with Lake Forest High School students to learn and get positive feedback.
“Our first-grade Sharks have been so welcoming to the LFHS students and ask every day ‘when will they be back?’ ” said Sheridan Principal Michelle Shinn.
