2015 Will Be Construction Heavy in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff

Substantial construction work set to take place on residential, commercial development corridors.

Construction and frustration may be the words of impact in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff this year. That’s if the discussion from the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce’ annual Business & Government Annual Breakfast Meeting is any indication.

The DailyNorthShore.com reports “angst” was the theme of this year’s meeting, held January 16 at the Lake Forest Club. Miniature construction cones were used at decorations at breakfast tables to indicate the planned projects in the two neighboring municipalities.

“There is going to be a lot of construction activity in 2015, a lot of cursing at times, a lot of inconveniences – but it is all for good things,” Lake Forest City Manager Robert Kiely Jr. said. “This is why you have on your table those construction cones – if you start to feel your blood pressure going up during this presentation, grab your cone and squeeze it, and keep it near you in 2015 because you are going to need it for all of the various projects we are going to go through.”

“The work in Lake Bluff touches every major arterial road. So if you are walking, biking, driving – you will be impacted,” Lake Bluff Village Administrator added.

Work at Market Square, Woodlands Academy and Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital highlight some of the projects that will see significant movement on this year in Lake Forest, while Lake Bluff will see work on the Route 43/176 corridor and the future Target area, which will include a number of national chain businesses making their debut in the village.
